Release day. 'As The Crow Flies' by The Advisory Circle is out there today and I am very proud indeed to be typing this. Please visit the Ghost Box Shop for your copy.
To celebrate, I've got a new mixtape for you all, called 'Summer Gathering Sequence'. It's available to stream at Mixcloud. Enjoy!

yeah ! I cannot wait to recieve my vinyl copy ! received the download link today but cannot really do anything with it since I'm at work all day. I'll just have to wait a little...
ReplyDeletecongrats for this new record release, amazing artwork and I'm sure amazing sounds.
one love,
arbee
Congratulations! I got the link to the mp3s in my mail today, but might wait until I got the vinyl - it's an audio-visual-literature-haptic piece of art after all, isn't it. Thanks also for the lovely bonus mix!
ReplyDeleteWell the Post Office didn't deliver the 12" square thing, but that's where the beauty of the download concept comes in. The TAC sound has developed from a 6" elliptical mono speaker into a pair of Quad Electrostatics. Good work, Sir.
ReplyDeleteVinyl arrived today.A beautiful thing ! Will the 'Lonely signalman' get a vinyl release? Lovely summer mix. Thankyou
ReplyDeletegot my vinyl thingy thru the post...it's lovely. Thank you Mr Brooks
ReplyDeleteGot mine today, it's smashing.
ReplyDeleteAmazing work Jon, very nice melodies, atmosphere, mixing and artwork! The song "Route along 18 corners" put a big happy smile on my face :) I wonder how you achieved that Perrey/Kingsley nasal lead sound, it's spot-on!
ReplyDeleteAnother one of my favorites is "Modern Through Movement", which recalled memories of Beverly Hills Cop chase sequences, and then in the middle promptly brought up some Goblin-esque Dario Argento inspired soundtrack Giallo sounds.
Thanks for the thrilling experience, as always, looking forward to your next work!
Greetings
Just ordered from Ghost Box. Can't wait to listen to it! Thanks for your work, Jon.
ReplyDeletejus'jay - There aren't any plans to release that track on vinyl, but it was a really difficult and torturous task to decide which ones would be left off the vinyl LP. Just a playing-length issue.
ReplyDeleteTragic Variant - that kind of nasal sound never fails to make me snigger; it sounds part-electronic and part... duck?
Thanks everyone.
